With mobile computing becoming more and more mainstream, many are turning to notebook computers for their low power consumption, high mobility, as well as many performance options that rival those of their desktop brethren. We also have the fact that enthusiasts of course want to make everything they touch faster. In light of this companies such as Kingston, are producing high performance upgrades for laptops. Today we take a look at Kingston’s DDR2 667 Low latency RAM for laptops.

Introduction

Kingston was founded in 1987 and was the first memory to perform 100 % testing, thereby improving quality assurance. Kingston now also sells flash based USB drives.

The HyperX series of RAM is designed for enthusiasts. The HyperX lines can attain faster speeds, lower latencies, and higher bandwidths, than ordinary ram. HyperX is available in single and dual-channel memory kits.

Packaging

Kingston packages this RAM in a standard dual channel RAM package. It has an insert for both sides that allows the smaller SODIMM to not move around. This type of packaging does a good job of protecting the RAM from both physical bumps as well as static electricity.
